Day 285
Day 285
King James Version (KJV)
Judges 3:1-11
1Now these are the nations which the LORD left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;2Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;3Namely, five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baalhermon unto the entering in of Hamath.4And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.5And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:6And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.7And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.8Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.9And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.10And the spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.11And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.
Psalm 24:1-10
1A Psalm of David.
The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.
2For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?4He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;
who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob.
Selah.
7Lift up your heads, O ye gates;
and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors;
and the King of glory shall come in.
8Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9Lift up your heads, O ye gates;
even lift them up, ye everlasting doors;
and the King of glory shall come in.
10Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory.
Selah.
1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1
10:23All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. 10:24Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. 10:25Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake: 10:26For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof. 10:27If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake. 10:28But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that showed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof: 10:29Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience? 10:30For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks? 10:31Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 10:32Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: 10:33Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
11:1Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
